John Schiavo

John Schiavo is a professional ice and roller hockey player born and raised in East Patchogue, New York. He began skating at age three, and his early years focused heavily on roller hockey, where he began his professional playing career at just 15 years old in New York. He is currently playing in his 17th professional season of roller hockey, the majority played with team Black Ice out of New York. Schiavo represented Team USA twice on the international stage, winning gold at the 2017 IIHF Inline World Championships in Slovakia, and also at the 2019 World Roller Games in Barcelona. 

Schiavo's ice hockey career led him to Junior hockey with the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), where he earned the prestigious Bob Fenton Memorial Trophy as the league's Most Sportsmanlike Player.  He went on to attend NHL and AHL rookie camps before competing professionally in both the ECHL and SPHL. His professional ice hockey career was capped with an SPHL championship with the Huntsville Havoc in 2019.

Schiavo serves as a skills coach with the PWHL's Minnesota Frost — back-to-back Walter Cup champions — and has built a global reputation as a skills coach, developing athletes of all ages and skill levels through clinics, training programs, and online content reaching players around the world.
