After college, Sam went on to play more than 100 professional games with the Fayetteville Marksmen (SPHL), serving as an alternate captain during his second season. Throughout his playing career, Sam gained firsthand insight into the importance of attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and consistent training habits when progressing to higher levels of hockey.
Now entering his third year with Best Shift and his third year of coaching, Sam has worked with players of all ages and skill levels. He specializes in skating, shooting, and defensive development, while also helping athletes rebuild confidence and return to peak performance following injury. Sam believes that training should be individualized for the player and that the best way to improve is to enjoy the training process. He believes that positive feedback and working together with the player to achieve goals is best for the player.
